East Anglia region, breakfast meeting. (Norfolk) Saturday October 17th 2026.

Our next East Anglia group breakfast meeting, will take place on Saturday October 17th 2026.

A group booking has been made for 20 people but numbers can be altered if necessary.


As usual it will be held at the Breckland Lodge. London Rd, Attleborough, Norfolk, NR17 1AY

The meeting time as always, is 9am onwards in the car park, for a 9:30 sit down.

People are welcome to arrive earlier if they wish, for a chin-wag in the car park before going inside for breakfast.

East Anglia region, group lunch. (Norfolk) Tuesday October 6th 2026.

Our October group meal will be the first of our lunches, as we head into Autumn. The lunch will be taking place on Tuesday October 6th at The Swan Inn.

As per normal for our lunches, tables have been booked for an arrival time of 12:30pm with a 1pm sit down.


Once again, pre-orders are not required for this pub, so it's just a case of letting either myself or Trevor know, via the forum, regional group chats or e-mail, if you would like to join us, then turn up and enjoy the meal.


*** Final numbers need to be in by Sunday October 4th, so the pub can be notified of how many to expect.

Government Consultation on Emissions (Important!)

For want of somewhere better to post this without creating a new Group..

Peter Hodson has alerted us to this Government Consultation on Emissions which may have some important implications for our ability to maintain and/or modify our cars.


Please take the time to read it QUICKLY as it closes 6th September.


You're invited to comment back here with ideas for the submission of answers to the consultation.

Post on socials from Lawrence Whittaker of Warrantywise and Lister fame:


So the government is going to try and effectively remove old vehicles from the road.


They've created a sneaky consultation on this huge change with an end date of only the 6th of September.


They want to have a yearly emissions check on every car and motorcycle on the road AS WELL as your mot.


If you pass the mot but then go to your emissions check, if the vehicle doesn't emit exactly the same emissions as when it was built the car will be banned from any use on the road even if it passed its mot emissions.


‼️ This will effectively destroy cars for those of us who love older cars, as well as those who simply can’t afford a newer car. Also car tuning and modifications will be forced to stop you been able to drive your car.‼️


This is targeting all vehicle, cars, motorbikes, trikes, kit cars etc.


So far they are just targeting cars after 2001 but they want to use it on every vehicle on the road targeting mot & tax exempt (historic) vehicles.


They've purposely not given this consultation much time, so please go to the bottom of this page, click this link: smartsurvey.co.uk/s/x-QHYJB7/ and click DISAGREE and tell them you do not want any of this from the government and share the consultation for others to do the same.


Only way to stop this would be to get the results of this consultation to be a resounding NO (DISAGREE)!

Blocked AirCon duct

Hi

I'm new to XKCC and have recently bought a lovely late 2009 XK Convertible 5.0. However, it has a blocked aircon duct so is depositing water in the passenger footwell. I live near Canterbury in Kent and took it to a Jag Specialist in Rochester, but they were reluctant to remove the dash to fix it. Does anyone know of a garage in Kent that has fixed this same problem on other XKs that they would recommend?

Picnic at Brandon Country Park, now cancelled.

Due to the rainy and wet weather, forecast for Thursday, we have decided to cancel the picnic.

If the weather looks to be any better in the future. we may select another date and try again.
