About

69 years old, married to Christine Nicasi since 1992, when we were both working for the European Commission in Luxembourg. She is Belgian, from Flanders. We have three children, all now grown, and all working in the UK.

Retired since January 2016, we have a flat in Cardiff, and a "lock up and go" in Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape, S. Africa, where we usually go to avoid European winters.

However, last time we went we were marooned there for 18 months due to the Covid travel restrictions. Back since August, as we'd not had so much as a coffee outside our flat, there were a few spare pounds in the bank, and the old Nissan Pathfinder was traded in for an XF Sportbrake. Impressed with the car, we decided to trade her Abarth 500 in for an XK, and here we are.

The cars are both a pleasure to drive, well mannered, and comfortable over a long distance, so the next item on the agenda is to find some interesting long distances to enjoy the cars.

South Africa beckons again, but, Sod's law being in full operational mode, the day after I booked our tickets to go back to the sun, the government put out a new red list, with South Africa on the top, so it will now be some while before we can return there.

One child is in London, another in Newcastle on Tyne, and one here in Cardiff.

We've seen a good part of continental Europe, and are looking to see a good deal more of the UK
